The problem is that this is a good idea for a reason, but it is also a very bad idea. Because the tubing is not really water tight, your engine compartment will get wet. If the water gets inside your car, your engine compartment will get wet. That is a lot of wetness.
One small problem with this idea is the fact that your car may lose power through the wetness, so, again, your engine compartment may get wet. Another issue is that it will also make your car look ugly. This is not a problem for you (and even if it is, it doesnt really matter much), but for others, even if your car looks beautiful, it may not.
