The handicap bathtub lift allows you to lift your bathtub from the base to the top and then push it up to your shower or bath. The bathtub is lifted by a hydraulic system to its maximum height in one piece.

The whole thing is basically a two person setup, and it’s great for people with lower back problems. However, I think that they should have a three person version of it. When I first saw this I thought “oh, I don’t want to do that,” and then I realized it was actually really fun. The base is raised a few inches off the ground, and then the bathtub and shower head are raised the rest of the way up.

I have a friend who has had some serious back problems, and he couldn’t even lift his shower head without putting it under the tub. The bathtub is so stable it actually looks as though it will actually tip over if you put too much weight on it. I don’t know, it seems to me that in the event of a wreck, there’s a good chance that the tub just won’t come up.

I don’t think that what a handicap bathtub lift looks like is a problem, though. If there was a really really huge wreck, I think you’d probably just see the tub go up at the bottom of the hill. And if it were that big a wreck, I don’t think it’s going to be possible to even lift the shower head.
