I don’t do a lot of walking, so when I do, I always feel as if I’m climbing a mountain. I’m always walking someplace new or getting to see someplace new, but I always feel a certain level of anxiety about how high I am.
It’s a great feeling to be high, but it’s also a dangerous feeling. When you’re on top of the world, you can see all the way to the ends of the earth. But when you’re in the zone, you can’t see the end of the road.
Ive been reading about the anxiety and fear that comes with walking for years and recently I thought I needed to write about it for the first time. Ive tried to get better at it, but nothing really has helped. You could say that it is a problem I face as a writer, but it seems like I have an innate fear of walking.
I am quite familiar with the fear of walking. Ive walked for about 10 years and, like every other person on Earth, I fear walking. Ive been told countless times that the only thing worse than walking is not being able to walk. The sad part is that these people are right, and it is something I have to overcome.
This isn’t a new problem for me either. Ive been walking for a long time, and it isn’t easy at all, but I can do it. All I have to do is to look at my body and be aware that I am being walked. I can see where my legs are going, and I can adjust my stride accordingly or just stay in place. Its not going to be easy, but its doable.
