If you move your eyes all day, you are not going to be able to use those eyes to focus on a single object at any given time. It also makes it easier to focus on a single thing, as you can move your eyes to focus on just one thing instead of being constantly flicking back and forth.
There are many examples of this, like when I am moving my eyes back and forth to focus on one item at a time. This can be a good thing, but it can also be very distracting and tiring.
