Apparently, more sock-to-toe ratio also seems to correlate with a higher risk of heart disease and diabetes. The researchers believe that the reason for this association may be the fact that wearing high-heeled shoes can make it more difficult for a person’s feet to compress against the ground, which can lead to foot pain and inflammation.
In my experience running and walking, I’ve noticed that the sock-to-toe ratio seems to be more important than the toe-to-toe ratio.
